Ray-Ban
The story of Ray-Ban begins when the explorer John MacCready complained about the sun damaging his eyes during a hot air balloon ride. He contacted the company Bausch & Lomb, which was tasked with creating sunglasses that would provide complete protection while also being aesthetically appealing. In 1937, Bausch & Lomb was granted a patent for their developed model "Anti-Glare," which featured an extremely lightweight and thin frame and lenses made of mineral glass to withstand infrared and ultraviolet rays.
